Sara
Sara’s coaching career was born from a simple but powerful realization: if she could impact someone’s life the way her high school cross country and track coach impacted hers, she’d be doing something truly meaningful. That spark, lit by her mentor Larry Pickering, has grown into a career defined by excellence, education, and an unwavering commitment to developing athletes and coaches alike.
A multi-sport athlete turned collegiate runner at UCCS, Sara began coaching in 2012 while earning her BS in Strength and Conditioning. She went on to earn her CSCS and MS in Health Promotion, serving as a graduate assistant and eventually assistant coach and strength coach for the UCCS women’s cross country and track program she once competed for. In 2019, she transitioned to Fort Carson as a strength and conditioning coach for the Army, working with tactical athletes before co-founding D1 Training Colorado Springs to build the community and family you see today. She brings elite-level experience and a deep commitment to individualized programming. Throughout her career, Sara has coached collegiate and professional runners, MMA fighters, WNBA players, tactical athletes, and volleyball players—but what drives her is the growth she witnesses in every athlete who commits to a goal and challenges themselves to pursue it. Most recently earning her RSCC (Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach), Sara is as dedicated to developing young coaches as she is to developing athletes.
Her philosophy is simple: create the program, commit to the process, witness the transformation. Outside the gym, Sara is a self-proclaimed bookworm, musical enthusiast, artist, and gamer who values quality time with the people she loves.

Devin
Devin’s coaching philosophy is simple: everyone deserves access to great training, the knowledge to move well, and the freedom to do what they love without being held back by injury or limitation. His approach blends sports science, injury prevention, and real-world psychology into a coaching style that’s as smart as it is motivating.
With a Kinesiology degree focused on sports science and injury prevention, plus his NASM certification, Devin has worked with everyone from elementary athletes to national championship junior college football and soccer teams—and even spent time in the mental health field, learning how to reach and motivate people who seem unmotivated. That wide range of experience gives him a rare ability to meet you exactly where you are. He’s obsessed with keeping you healthy, strong, and in the game. Whether you’re a young athlete building foundational movement skills or an adult looking to move better and feel stronger, Devin’s focus is always the same: intensity and injury prevention working together. He’s not just preventing setbacks—he’s unlocking potential.
One of his early clients walked into the gym with tears of happiness after achieving healthy blood pressure for the first time in her life. That’s the kind of impact Devin chases every single day.
Outside the gym, he’s a competitive recreation junkie—snowboarding, disc golf, pickleball, cornhole, you name it. If it involves movement and competition, he’s in.

Kelsey
Kelsey grew up in a family that valued movement—hiking, skiing, and exploring the outdoors together. That foundation led her to competitive dance in high school, where contemporary became her passion, and eventually to weightlifting, which became not just a hobby but a lifeline for her mental health and personal growth.
With her Bachelor’s in Exercise Science and her CSCS certification through NSCA, Kelsey has found her calling in injury prevention and strength coaching. After a six-month internship at D1, she knew this was where she belonged—coaching people of all ages to move better, get stronger, and live healthier lives. She’s all about relationships and results. Whether you’re a young athlete building a foundation, an adult looking to lift pain-free, or someone who just wants to feel strong and capable in everyday life, Kelsey meets you with genuine care and smart programming. She’s not just coaching movements—she’s coaching people. She’s even developed a Character Athlete of the Month Program to celebrate the hard work and heart our members bring every day.
Outside the gym, you’ll find Kelsey in the mountains—hiking, camping, skiing, or exploring new coffee shops with family and friends.

Adam
Adam’s story with D1 came full circle. He started as a young athlete in D1’s Developmental program, attending classes as often as his mom would drive him. That early foundation sparked a lifelong passion for lifting and coaching that brought him back years later—this time as a coach.
A multi-sport athlete turned Olympic lifter, Adam discovered his true calling in college: helping others unlock their potential. He’s a power sports specialist with a passion for sport-specific training. Whether you’re a football player, basketball athlete, volleyball player, or track & field competitor, Adam brings technical precision and genuine excitement to every session. He’s self-taught, intrinsically motivated, and holds a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science plus certifications including NSCA CSCS, USAW Level 1, and ACE CES. Adam’s coached athletes to massive vertical jump gains, perfected hang clean technique with basketball players, and introduced countless young athletes to weight training for the first time. What drives him? Being part of athletes’ lives, supporting their goals, and watching them rise to the challenge.
Outside the gym, he’s an outdoor enthusiast who loves volleyball, snowboarding, hiking, and board games with his fiancée (they’re getting married this January).

Mallory
Soccer has been part of her life since she was two years old, but her passion for performance expanded beyond the field when she discovered nutrition in college. Learning how proper fueling impacts athletic performance sparked a desire to help others reach their goals through both training and nutrition. A former collegiate soccer player, she trained at D1 throughout her playing career and experienced firsthand the value of expert coaching and a strong team environment. After graduation, she returned to D1 as a coach, combining her love for athletics with her passion for helping others succeed.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Nicholls State University, holds a NASM Certified Personal Trainer certification, and is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics. She believes the best results come from combining quality training with proper nutrition and takes a holistic approach to helping athletes improve performance, build healthy habits, and reach their full potential.
What drives her most is watching athletes grow in confidence and achieve goals they once thought were out of reach. She especially enjoys working with dedicated athletes who bring energy and commitment to every session. Outside the gym, she enjoys hiking, camping, off-roading, and working on cars. She also speaks a little Turkish and Spanish and loves spending time with friends and family.

Will
Will grew up immersed in sports and competition, participating in rodeo, football, basketball, baseball, and wrestling. A standout multi-sport athlete, he won state championships in wrestling and baseball before continuing his baseball career at Trinidad State Junior College and locally at UCCS, where he earned 2nd Team All-Region honors as a pitcher.
While he always enjoyed competition—especially baseball—it was in high school that he developed a passion for strength training and long-term athletic development. That combination of playing and training experiences ultimately led him toward coaching and helping others improve. Will began coaching early, assisting with youth football, baseball, and wrestling programs, and later coaching a 16U baseball team while supporting local high school sports during college. After completing his collegiate baseball career, he joined D1 as an intern and was hired as a coach following the program. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs in 2024.
He has experience working with athletes of all ages and backgrounds, from youth sports to adults in rehabilitation and general fitness settings. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Physical Therapy, with a continued focus on helping people move, perform, and live better.
What drives him most as a coach is the opportunity to make a positive impact and help athletes build confidence while reaching goals they once thought were out of reach. He especially enjoys working with athletes who bring consistent effort, positivity, and a willingness to improve.

Dustin
Dustin discovered track and field in elementary school and quickly developed a passion for both competition and the training process behind athletic success. By his senior year of college, volunteering as a youth coach revealed his true calling: helping athletes grow, improve, and achieve their goals.
Over the past 17 years, Dustin has coached athletes at every level, including stops at ALTIS, Adams State University, and the Air Force Academy. Along the way, he has mentored All-Americans, conference champions, and school record holders, and was named National Coach of the Year after helping lead Adams State’s women’s team to the 2019 Indoor National Championship. His experience spans track and field, football, basketball, soccer, and more, working with athletes from youth sports to masters
competitors.
He holds a BS in Exercise Science, an MS in Kinesiology, and advanced certifications through USA Track & Field in sprints, jumps, and hurdles, along with NASM PES and CES credentials. Dustin is passionate about developing speed, power, and athletic performance, but what drives him most is the journey—helping athletes push beyond their limits and discover what they’re capable of achieving.
Outside the gym, Dustin enjoys hiking, camping, board games, and college football with his family. His greatest motivation is his family and the pursuit of elite performance.

Kalyn
Kalyn’s path into coaching began behind the scenes in collegiate athletics, spending six years in Football Operations at both the NAIA and Division II levels. During that time, she worked alongside industry leaders in strength and conditioning and athlete development, gaining a unique perspective on performance and leadership.
She holds bachelor’s degrees in Exercise Science and Business Administration, along with a Master’s degree in Sports Administration with an emphasis in Sport Management. She is currently pursuing her CPT, CNC, and a Master’s degree in Health, Human Science, and Recreation.
What brought her to D1 was a full-circle connection with Coach Kit, who had been a strength and conditioning coach at her high school when Kalyn was a student manager. Years later, after returning to Colorado Springs, the two reconnected, and Kit invited her to join the D1 team.
As someone living with chronic illness, Kalyn understands what it feels like to believe fitness isn’t meant for you. After discovering the benefits of strength training firsthand, she became passionate about helping others realize they are stronger and more capable than they think.
What she loves most about coaching is watching people achieve wins they never thought possible—whether that’s building confidence, lifting heavier, or simply showing up consistently. She especially enjoys working with individuals who are committed to becoming a little better than they were yesterday.
